Then I figured combining that with a cronjob to periodically dump the database, and back up the config / data (say yearly full backups, and weekly diff backups). I should be able to set it up to not delete files from the recycle bin on the server, so that's good. SEE: Speculations on why ownCloud’s founder forked its popular product into Nextcloud. On the surface, that seems a bit wrong to install the competition’s software, for now that’s the only option. It sounds nice but I'm nervous about it being a syncing service. What we’re going to do is install the ownCloud desktop client and connect it to a Nextcloud server. I'd like to be able to set certain folders to sync and certain to be mapped as a network drive or at least downloadable over ftp /. Also it needs to be cheap < 100$ per year. It'd be great if it also hid the filenames so it would be impossible to see what files are hosted. It should at least support encrypted transfers and preferably client side encryption so that the files are impossible to decrypt on the server. It does not store any personal data.I would like a decent remote cloud storage / sync / backup service, that supports at least a couple of TB of data, unlimited transfers (mostly in case of restoring backup), doesn't delete files unless specifically instructed to and is guaranteed to not lose data. Just make sure that you have the two extensions pdo.so and pdo_mysql.so added to the php.ini file in the cli folder. I had to create the cli folder and then I copied over my php.ini that is used by apache2 to the cli folder. If you do not have a “cli” folder in your “\etc\php5\” folder then the php-cli is running a default version of a php.ini file. You will most likely not have either a properly configured config file in the “\etc\php5\cli\” folder or you don’t have that folder at all. But I finally found enough clues to figure out my issue. The focus of Nextcloud is to be secure (2 factor auth). If you do some quick searching you will find a bunch of different answers, but nothing will seem to work. It Is quite similar to ownCloud, but it includes the ownCloud Enterprise Features like Collabora Online, Calender, Contacts etc. "PHP Fatal error: Class 'PDO' not found in /var/www/nextcloud/3rdparty/doctrine/db al/lib/Doctrine/DBAL/DriverManager.php on line 172" When I was attempting to run the “occ” command to either upgrade or turn on the rewrite base option for my NextCloud or OwnCloud installation I was getting the following error.
